Still a relatively young course, Portal has matured marvelously over the 20-odd years it has been in existence. The Championship course was even voted ‘Golf Course of the Year’ in 1995, aged only five, and has established itself as one of the finest in northern Europe.

It was designed, along with its clubhouse by Donald Steel and offers arguably the best service and presentation in the north west of England for both individual golfers and corporate groups.
